When I came across this advertisement in Glamour, I immediately disagreed aesthetically with the decision to write the company's name in numbers and letters. In this example, "Ezekiel" uses 1's, 2's, backwards 3's and an upside-down 7 to spell out the brand's name. Aside from the name being difficult to read, I feel as though the text does not align with the product it is trying to sell. Without seeing the adjacent pictures, I would have no idea "Ezekiel" was a clothing line (or any other product of the like). Also, the text is in reverse type, which takes the viewer even longer to process the intended message.
I agree with Maddie's choice of "bad type." Without reading her description, I would not have realized those arbitrary shapes spelled out "2012." While the warm colors do attract the eye, the type does not enhance the message whatsoever.
