My main objective was to keep my resume simple and restrained. I am most likely going to pursue a business career over a communications career, thus I felt it necessary to use a simple typeface and no color. I tried to mirror this aesthetic by creating a traditional layout for the body.

I think you did a really good job in keeping it simple to give off the "businessy" feel. While it is really simple, it also has a very modern tone to it. The way you have your first name in gray and your last name in black makes it look kind of futuristic. Also, setting your name to the right of the resume will make it stand out among the hundreds of boring resumes in whatever business field you choose. Good job.
